Before Your First Visit
We review your submitted Patient Questionnaire and prior medical records and create an electronic medical record for you.
What To Expect
We review your detailed history followed by a physical examination. We do baseline pulmonary function testing and discuss a management plan and treatment options.
Skin Testing for Environmental or Food or Medicine or Metal Allergy
You must stop Antihistamines (Allegra, Zyrtec, Benadryl, Claritin, Cold and Cough medicines, Zantac, antihistamine nasal sprays and skin creams) 72-96 hours prior to skin testing. A light meal is recommended.
Allergen Immunotherapy (allergy shots)
Take your antihistamine on the day of your allergy shots or within 24 hours. Do not take a 'beta blocker' or 'ACE-inhibitor' type of high Blood Pressure medicine on the day of your allergy shots.
Pulmonary Function Test
Do not use asthma inhalers 24 hours prior to this test.
No prep needed.
Oral Food and Medicine Challenges
Stop antihistamines for 72-96 hours. The suspect food or medicine is measured, prepared and administered in incremental doses every 20-30 minutes per AAAAI/ACAAI guidelines. Expected office visit is 2-3 hours.
Allergen Immunotherapy (Allergy Shots)
Wait for 30 minutes after your allergy shots are administered. Call us immediately in the rare event you experience systemic symptoms and go to nearest emergency room or call 911.
*Important: If you have been prescribed an EPIPEN or ProAir (Albuterol) rescue inhaler please keep it with you at all times!
We accept most insurances and Medicare. For billing queries please verify with your insurance company prior to our services. You are also responsible for ensuring that referrals are submitted from your primary care physician 48 hours prior to your visit or you may be responsible for charges for your visit.
For patients without insurance coverage, payment is expected at time of service via cash, check, credit card or HSA (health service account). Inquire about our charges for cash paying patients. A monthly payment plan can be set up.
