Externs, students, and medical residents have rotated through our medical practice from 1 week to 6 months. As faculty mentor at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) Dr. Khan devised an approved curriculum with clinical and practical guidelines in key allergy, asthma and immunology disease states. Students are encouraged to take patient histories, perform EMR clinical data entry, virtual physical examinations, provide instructions for sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT), peak flow meter use, and epinephrine techniques at telemedicine visits. They research and present state of the art journal articles, connect with pharmaceutical reps, learn to assess and manage social triggers of allergy and asthma in patient environs, and assist in our TeleMedicine platform.
